PROGRAMAS DE ACTIVIDADES DE I+D EN BIOMEDICINA, ENTRE GRUPOS DE INVESTIGACIÓN DE LA COMUNIDAD DE MADRID Convocatoria 2010 - S2010/BMD-2439 - VISIONANIMAL-CM ANIMAL MODELS FOR THE STUDY OF VISION DISORDERS |

Companies and associated entities Objectives and Research topics Scientific-Technological Offer

OBJETIVES Objetive 1: Analyze the genetic basis and the underlying cellular mechanisms associated to myopia, experimentally induced, particularly in animal models of albinism
Objetive 2: Establish the role of L-DOPA in the restoration of the visual deficits that are characteristic of animal models of albinism and the assessment of its potential therapeutical use
Objetive 3: Cloning the gene/locus associated with a possible new animal model of age-related macular degeneration (AMD)
Objetive 4: Obtaining new animal models, mice, where to functionally assess the inactivation of Pomt1 gene in the retina, thus describing the visual phenotype associated to distroglycanopathies
RESEARCH TOPICS Animal models by genetic manipulation (Lluís Montoliu, CNB-CSIC) Human Genotyping Unit (Anna González-Neira, CNIO) Animal Models for the study of distroglycanopathies in vision (Jesús Cruces, IIBm UAM/CSIC) Visual Neurophysiology (Pedro de la Villa, UAH) Ophthalmology (Jaime Tejedor, Fund. Ramón y Cajal) |
