This consortium is formed by five groups, including two basic scientific researchers, experts in molecular biology, and responsible for the generation and the analyses of the animal models to be studied in depth within this Project (Lluís Montoliu-CNB, Jesús Cruces-UAM), a researcher specialist in vision electrophysiology, equipped with all methods and essential methods to assess the gains and losses of the visual function (Pedro de la Villa-UAH), a researchers with all the knowledge and the required equipment for the massive genomic analyses of genetic samples and their ulterior interpretation using bioinformatic tools (Anna González-Neira-CNIO) and, finally, a clinical researcher, a physician, specialist in ophthalmology area, in the reference hospital of the Madrid Region for all vision disorders, and, hence, with direct access to patients of the different ocular pathologies that are included in this project (Jaime Tejedor-Hospital Ramón y Cajal).
