The vision alterations are highly handicapping and affect the entire society. We know very little about many ocular pathologies responsible for altering significantly the quality of life of the affected individuals presenting those disorders. This Project, entitled "Animal Models for the Study of Vision Disorders" pretends to benefit from the study of several genetically modified mice already generated and partially analyzed for particularly increasing our knowledge of some of these vision disorders. The detailed study of these animal models,
some of which are in the process of being generated, will enable to know much better their ethiologies as well as the underlying cellular and molecular mechanisms, both essential for the design and development of therapeutical approaches for curing or alleviating the symptoms associated with these vision disorders.
