Spanish-Portuguese Meeting for Advanced Optical Microscopy

5-7 October, Bizkaia Aretoa, Bilbao

The Spanish-Portuguese Meeting for Advanced Optical Microscopy cordially invites all researchers, facility managers and industry representatives, interested in advanced imaging techniques to its meeting in Bilbao (Spain) on 5-7 October, 2016.

SPAOM 2016 has its roots in the bi-annual meeting of the Spanish Network for Advanced Optical Microscopy (REMOA, www.remoa.net) and it is coorganised for the first time with the Portuguese Platform of BioImage (www.ppbi.pt).

SPAOM 2016 is a major scientific event that aims at promoting the Spanish and Portuguese bioimaging scientific community and fostering communication between scientists and industry. The conference has an international scope: focused on the national Spanish and Portuguese microscopic panorama it will also host invited talks by relevant european researchers and accept contributions from abroad.

This year’s conference will take place in Bilbao, a lively city that combines tradition with modernity. Famous for its “pintxo” bars and restaurants, the city has become a cultural reference in Southern Europe. The event will be held at the Bizkaia Aretoa (www.ehu.eus/es/web/bizkaia-aretoa), one of the flagship buildings of the new Bilbao. The Bizkaia Aretoa is conveniently located at the heart of the city, within walking distance to the major hotels, to the Guggenheim Museum and the Old Quartier.

We are looking forward to meeting you in Bilbao in October 2016.
