HE stands for hematoxylin/eosine staining, CV stands for cresyl violet staining

.

Important remarks:
1) The requested services by CNB personnel will always have preference for execution before the rest of orders from external users.
2) Unless specifically indicated, all blocks will be prepared and fixed in 4% PFA.
3) Unless specifically indicated, all sections from paraffin and plastic blocks will be obtained at 5 micrometers thickness, and those from frozen blocks at 15 micrometers thickness.
4) We offer two routine basic staining protocols, initially available: Hematoxylin/Eosin or Cresyl Violet. For other staining procedures, please inquire.
5) If the user needs less slides than indicated in the contracted 1 unit (10 or 5 slides) we will invoice still 1 Unit.

Coordination

Since 2009, the CNB Histology Facility is associated with the IIBm-UAM/CSIC Histology Facility. The two centres, participating in INNOTEK, merged their operations under the coordination of the CNB Histology Facility, enabling them to offer CNB and IIB researchers greater processing capacity of histological samples. The CNB Histology Facility has been training personnel from the IIB-UAM/CSIC Histology Facility and supervising work, aiming to establish equivalent output standards.
